  • Does it come with a hard disk?

    No. It does not. We believe that it’s easier and more affordable for users to to use external storage devices instead. It helps us keep the price of EMAGINE lower too!

  • What can EMAGINE do?

  • Can EMAGINE be connected to the Internet using a LAN connection or wirelessly with WiFi?

    Yes, it can connect both ways. However, a more stable connection is usually achieved when using a LAN connection.

  • How fast does my broadband need to be for EMAGINE to work?

    The suggested minimum requirement is a broadband connection of 3Mbit/s or faster. For the best experience of viewing High Definition online videos & On-Demand content, stable speeds of 5Mbits/s or faster is recommended. High Speed Fibre Broadband services such as TM UniFi, TIME Fibre Broadband, Maxis Fibre Internet and others are recommended.

  • Can I use a Mobile Internet USB device with EMAGINE?

    You can’t, we’re afraid. But as EMAGINE comes with WiFi capabilities, you can connect EMAGINE using a Mobile Broadband Wireless Hotspot (usually referred to as a “MiFi” device). However, we do not recommend connecting EMAGINE using Mobile Broadband Wireless Hotspots as EMAGINE is designed for stable and consistent High Speed Broadband connections, which are provided best by Fibre Broadband services. If you would like to connect EMAGINE using a Mobile Broadband Wireless Hotspot regardless, we recommend that you adjust your Video Quality settings in EMAGINE to Low or Medium quality instead.

  • How do I connect EMAGINE to my TV?

    EMAGINE can only connect to your TV via a HDMI cable, which comes with EMAGINE.

  • How do I play my downloaded files?

    There are 3 USB 2.0 ports and an SD card slot on the STB. You may plug in your external hard drive, thumb drive or your SD card to access your personal content. Navigate to “My Files” and choose whether you would like to play your videos, your music or view your photos.

  • Does EMAGINE come with any live channels? Like TV?

    No it doesn’t.

  • What kind of video formats can EMAGINE play?

    EMAGINE plays most major video formats such as H.264 AVC (TS/AVI/MKV/MOV/MP4), VC-1 (TS/AVI/MKV/WMV), MPEG-1 (DAT/MPG/MPEG), MPEG-2 (MPG/MPEG/VOB/TS/ISO), MPEG-4 (MP4/AVI/MOV), DivX (AVI/MKV), Xvid (AVI/MKV), WMV, and more. However, EMAGINE does not play RMVB files.

  • Does EMAGINE support 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound?

    EMAGINE can play files with surround sound but the audio is converted to 2-Channel Stereo during playback

  • What image formats can it support?

    EMAGINE can view most major image formats such as JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF and more etc.

  • Are the Net TV Channels free?

    Yes, all the Net TV channels are free. You only need to pay if you wish to subscribe to premium content and services such as Premium On-Demand, the iOK Karaoke On-Demand and others. Subscriptions can only be made with your approval, and you make the choice of what you would like to subscribe to, for how long etc.

  • How can I keep my EMAGINE unit’s software updated?

    • Navigate right to Settings and click OK
    • Navigate to Updates/Downloads and click OK
    • Choose to the latest update (the first item on the top of the list) and click OK
    • Ensure that the unit is not turned off during the update
    • When the update is complete, click “Back” a prompt will pop up to ask you to reboot the system
    • Click OK and the system will reboot
    • The system will start on the latest updated software
  • How long is the warranty, how do I activate it & what does it cover?

    The warranty is for one (1) year from the date of purchase or delivery to you, whichever is later. The warranty is automatically activated for you – there is no longer any need to register online!   • Do I need an EMAGINE Account?

    You can use EMAGINE without registering an account, but to create video playlists, access the EMAGINE Community shared playlists, subscribe to premium services, top up your EMAGINE account & more, you will need one. You can easily create a FREE EMAGINE account at www.emagine.my

  • Do I need to top up my EMAGINE account with funds?

    You will need to in order to subscribe to premium content & services, such as the Premium On-Demand channels. Otherwise, there is no need to.

  • How do I top up my EMAGINE account?

    Just log in to your EMAGINE account at www.emagine.my, and select Top Up Funds. You will have a choice of amounts to top up, and you can top up using either your Debit or Credit Card, or through Direct Debit to your bank account online.

  • Can I sign in with my EMAGINE account on different EMAGINE units?

    Yes you can! When you do, all your favourites, personal and bookmarked playlists will be shown, regardless of which unit of EMAGINE you are using. However, you will not be able to have 2 simultaneous logins. A second login will result in the first one being logged off automatically.
